"Snow" Niveus

As expected of one destined for the path of a Boxer, Niveus prefers to get in close, to better feel the flow of the battle, and read his opponents. His tactics from a distance rarely include range attack; it's more likely that he'll simply charge right in. Unlike some others, he fully relies on his body. When above-and-beyond is needed, ki is helpful, but for anything else, the power of the muscle, body, and willpower behind his fist can get the job done.

Niveus isn't a cold-hearted man, but his ability seems to suggest otherwise. The air around his body is naturally colder than the surrounding air, although this typically isn't more than enough to simply send a chill down the spine of someone standing close. However, with emotional spikes or focus, this effect takes a much stronger form, actually whipping the air into a furious maelstrom of ice and snow.
Effects: At the cost of 10% SP, the field is activated, with a 5% SP upkeep per turn. While this is active, anything within a 5 foot radius of Niveus's body takes 5L Damage per turn, where L is equal to Niveus' level.
Note: Niveus can move and attack as usual while A.V.A.L.A.N.C.H.E. is active, although each attack costs an additional 5% SP.

A terrifying amalgamation of the Ice element and several lesser forces of nature , the Maelstrom element is, despite the name, not actually linked to a whirlpool. Rather, the name refers to its twisting nature, as Niveus specializes in using it to whip up storms, particurally those of a spiralling nature. It is this element that makes A.V.A.L.A.N.C.H.E. possible, although its potential applications are theoretically endless. Possibly uses include blasting enemies back with a vortex of spiralling wind, or drawing them in with the same force in reverse, while adding a hail of ice shards to slice them. On a more peaceful note, Niveus has been known to whip up light snow falls, rain storms, or whirlpools using this element, simply for the hell of it.

Large and muscular, Niveus fits right into his roll as a melee fighter. From his leather gloves, to his bandanna, to his long white coat, it would be hard to mistake him for anything but someone who was at home on the battlefield, someone who focused on getting up close and personal. Under his long coat, he wears a white shirt made of a leather-like material, with high collar. This shirt is typically zipped halfway down, revealling his fairly muscular chest. He wears loose black pants for ease of movement, with the ends tucked into his thick boots, which would be mistaken for military-grade combat boots if not for the stripping of white leather wrapping around, which is clearly for cosmetic purposes. A long blue scarf is wrapped around his waist, with one end hanging down his left leg, almost level with the ground. His skintone is fairly pale, while his hair is a very light blond, and shoulder length. Typically keeping his facial hair to a rough stubble, acceptable given its light and unnoticible color, Niveus has a clearly proud facial structure, with light blue, almost gray eyes. His standard expression would have him sporting his signature grin.

Describing the mind of Niveus is...simply impossible. To put it simply, he is a man who hardly knows what he wants in life, let alone how to go about getting it. For what he does know, a fair deal can be said. Niveus loves to fight, as his appreence somewhat suggests. When it comes to a battle, he would rather charge in and start swinging, although he does understand that sometimes stealth and range operations are needed. He understadns this, again, but typically doesn't care. He belives strongly in his own strength as both a man and a warrior, and tends to rely on his own power, rather than the aadvantages of ki, or buffing. This of course means he as a terrifying sight on the battlefield, being able to hold his own without said advantages; when he does use them, it's easily comparable to a caged beast being let out into a room full of those who had forever pissed it off. It is unknown why he has sided with those of Ragnarok, because he simply doesn't fit the group at first glance. Typically cheerful, with no plans of world domination, he is just as likely to go and get smashed with the heroes of the Varia and Sanctum as he is to actually try and kill one of them. On this same level, he is increadably likely to incite battles among the others of his faction, rather than focus on fighting the other groups. He usually seems a brash and foolish man, if not a lower form easily swayed by sex, booze, and general perversion. However, all of this is simply an act; behind all the foolishness the true thougths behind his cold blue eyes can be found; a genius mind ever studying his surroundings, allies, and enemies. No one ever expects that the muscle in a group could follow any of the scheming they all have going on...which is exactly how Niveus likes it.

NORA!

No Obligations, Rules, or Authority!

This is the group that Niveus spent a large portion of his life both building, and leading. While they might sound like little more than anarchists, the group situated in the world of Bodhum did not actually intend to cause chaos; rather, they served to defend their worlds from threats like the Heartless and the Nobodies, while still refusing to bend and be forced to rely on help from forces like the Varia, or other world-spanning groups who would seek payment or services for simply saving lives. The members of NORA do not think that anyone should have the right to rule, or subject others to being ruled.

They were not openly hostile with military forces, although they certiatly remained wary. Despite their prefered nonhostility, conflicts between the groups were not unheard of; sometimes over something as small as a conflict over who should be defending what world, sometimes direct battles between the groups based on a stray shot, or a diplomatic misunderstanding.

Unlike perhaps all of his so-called allies in the Ragnarok faction, Niveus does not wish evil upon the worlds; he openly opposes the Heartless, the more malignant or violent Nobodies, and even his fellow teammates outside of NORA who would chose to cause senseless pain or suffering.

His reasons for joining Ragnarok are largely unknown, and open to speculation; all that he usually replies when asked is that he made a promise to someone, and that being with them will somehow allow him to see this promise through to fruition. This promise is somehow linked to both the necklace he wears, and the strange tattoo-like marking on his left arm; what any of it means is by far a mystery.

A further possibility as to his intentions with his current faction could be tied within how he came to live in the era after the fall of most of the worlds in the first place. Although the headstrong hero of Ragnarok prefers to focus on the present and maintain a bright outlook, the mention of his past typically brings a shroud over his emotions, causing the normally cheerful man to become as cold as the snow he was named after. The truth, as far as he ever cares to remember due to the pain related to the memories, is that a woman he loved dearly was taken from him by forces greater and more powerful than any man he had ever known. After a long battle, during which most of the assembled members of NORA were shot down before their leader's eyes, the man finally made his way into the heart of the complex that housed his beloved. What happened next remains too traumatic for him to remember even years later, although the events following were quite simple; losing himself in rage in grief, his heart reacted with the strange tattoo the ordeal had left upon his left arm, and an instant before a surging maelstrom engulfed the complex, he was completely enshrouded by what at first seemed to be the purest ice; in truth, it was a deep blue crystal. As his vision faded to black, and the vortex tore throughout the area, his eyes remained focused on but one thing; his beloved, smiling just as she had in life.

Two years later, after the remainder of NORA was either disbanded or killed as a result of the loss of their leader, the crystal housing Niveus was discovered on another world by a member of Ragnarok. Hardly knowing if anything remained that was worth living for, and seeking something once dear to his heart, Niveus followed.
